大将軍

Never in my life did I ever think, or even dream

of becoming an 8th Dan in Wado Karate.

It is an honour way beyond my capability

To find words for.

I will work hard to continue to show my respect

for Karate Do, the men and women that

show us the path, and for those,

upon whose shoulders they stood.

I see now, that 80 years of age and 8th Dan,

Simply presents a new beginning.
